Need someone to write...
Check out my samples, send me an email and let's talk.
If I can share any sort of "secret" for writing effective copy, it's this: know who you're writing for and why you're writing it. Obviously, the right style for one audience can be highly inappropriate — not to mention potentially boring — for another. But if you don't have a firm reason for why you're writing the piece, your words will invariably take aim at different targets in the vague hopes of hitting the right one.
Knowledge of a specific industry is not the most significant consideration when choosing a copy writer, although it's an advantage. In most cases, an individual can always learn the core facts about any particular line of business. It's more important to find a writer who can successfully manipulate a message to appeal to the audience that you want to reach.
Management types who demand "just the facts" and nothing more... "techies" who thrive on detailed details, replete with all the jargon that you can throw at them... neophytes who just want something that's straight-forward and easy to read... I've written for each of these audiences, often about the exact same topic.
