Who's all here? Aside from support staff, there's just "me, myself and I" behind the scenes. If you're looking for the services that I provide, dealing with one person has its advantages. For starters, it means no surprises — you'll know what you're getting right from the start. Throughout this website, it's my work that you see: my samples, my designs, my creations. When you hire eSheep Enterprises to do a project for you, I'll be the one putting in the effort.
My Background
The short story is that I turned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Economics into an IT consulting career. I also attended art school and briefly contemplated a major in English, so you might say that my mind is creatively and logically "balanced". (Good to know if you're considering hiring me, right?)
After teaching for eight years (introductory Pascal programming and business applications from WordPerfect to dBASE III and everything memorable in between), I progressed to various IT consulting positions and contracts.
Over the years, I've honed my writing and document design skills on literally thousands of pages of course materials, user manuals, technical documentation, management reports, marketing messages, and HTML pages.
That aside, why should you hire me?
- I've been told that I'm quick on the uptake and possess an unerring eye for detail. (I'm the sort of person who notices typos on advertising boards and flyers without looking for them.) I work fast and deliver quality results.
- I've written documents for clients in industries ranging from telecommunications to education to travel to utilities. You don't have to worry about whether or not I know your particular line of business. Believe me... after all this time, I've seen enough to know what does and doesn't work — regardless of industry.
- I can relate to your needs. If you're a small business person, I've likely dealt with your challenges first-hand. If you're a cog in a big corporate machine or public service department, I've worked in similar environments and know how they function.
- No "middlemen" and their associated fees. All other things being equal, I only charge for the work that I do. A consulting service will invariably charge you for finding the right person for the job.
What I do is not rocket science. However, I've met — and keep meeting — many people who can't do what I do, so I know that my services are invaluable. That's why I'm here, and maybe that's why you're here.
Dreaming it Up and Making it Real
The eSheep name is, of course, a nod to Philip K. Dick's short story, "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?". My goal is to help you "dream it up and make it real". Unfortunately, I can't actually help you out with electric sheep, but if you dream of making a dramatic impact with your business communications, you've come to the right place.
